There is still plenty of time to sign up for the CCPL Summer Reading program, “Beneath the Surface.” Sign up at http://events.carr.org/carroll/sr/homepage.asp?ProgramID=24 and begin your summer reading adventure! For each book you read, log on and record the book in your reading log. Each book you log in earns you an entry into the weekly prize drawings. The more you read, the greater your chance to win one of the great prizes available! Start reading today!
So, the school year is winding down! What did you read this year? What did you like? What didn’t you like? Do you have a book to recommend? Is there a book you want to read?
Comment on the post and leave your ideas!
Today we had the Beach Book Party! The media center was decorated to reflect fun in the sun. Book lists of recommended reading were located around the media center for students to pick up. Students were able to create a “summer bucket list” and collect candy in their own beach pail! Beach Book Bingo was available to play!
The party was also a kick-off to the CHS Media blog. Hopefully students, parents and teachers will use the blog to gain information on books and media events as well as post their own reviews of books in response to the posts.
Finally, we want to encourage our Century students to sign up for the CCPL summer reading program, “Below the Surface.” Students can sign up by going to http://events.carr.org/carroll/sr/homepage.asp?ProgramID=24 and enrolling. Then during the summer students just log in and post the books they have read. Each book read provides the student with an entry into the weekly drawings for some really great prizes!
The lists will be available until the end of school so drop in and pick some up!
Have a great summer and dig into a good book!
