The Giver by Lois Lowry
The Giver is a intense story about a fictional place but real events that could happen are included. They have weird rituals and rules to follow in the small community. If you like suspenseful drama books you would most definitely love this book!!!

I agree, everyone should read this book! It’s a quick read and it really gets you thinking. The people in this story think their world is perfect but it sure doesn’t seem perfect to me. If you are not already reading this in class, read it with your friends and make sure to talk about it. Especially the ending. I don’t want to give anything away but I’m still not sure what to think about the end.
(P.S. I work in the library at Shiloh Middle School and our book club read this book too)
