Today we got a new book called “Holes” by Louis Sachar. It looks REALLY good. Here is the description:
“Stanley Yelnats is under a curse. The curse started with his great grandfather a long ways back. Now Stanley is at a boy’s detention center, Camp Green Lake, where the boys dig holes 5 feet long and 5 feet deep! There is no lake at Camp Green Lake, but a lot of holes!”
Sounds good right?! Thank you for reading have a nice day! 🙂
The history of Valentines day has long been a debated subject. This legend stood out to me though, so here it goes. Saint Valentine helped Christians escape from prison, which he became famous for. Valentine died on February 14 and was honored with a holiday symbolizing care and love.
How do you celebrate Valentine’s day? Answer in the comments!
Please forgive us for not blogging in a long time. Today we are talking about the Newbery medal! It was created in 1921 by Frederic G. Melcher. The Newbery is bronze and has the winners name and the date engraved on the back. The inscription on the medal forever will say “Children’s Librarians Section”. Thanks for reading!!
