Welcome Mrs. Sikorski

Dear Ebb Valley families,

I am honored to join your school and community. I want to introduce myself and give you some information about me.

This will be my twelfth year in the Carroll County Public School System. In that time, I have taught grades 2 through 5, served as an instructional support teacher, instructional leader, and have been an administrator for four years. I was previously Assistant Principal at Winfield Elementary, a PreK to grade 5 school. Working at Winfield was a wonderful experience and it is a very unique school. In addition to serving our general education in grades K through 5, Winfield also is a site for the regional Autism Program, an Early Childhood Special Needs program for three and four year olds, and an LFI program. Working with all of these groups has given me extensive experience in the world of special education and meeting the needs of all types of learners. I love working with students, staff, and the community to find the most effective and innovative ways to support student learning and families.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Towson University and Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in administration from McDaniel College. I continue to take courses to stay current and maintain my teaching certificate.

My husband, Paul, and I live in Westminster with our two boys. Henry is two and John is five. We have nine chickens. The chickens all have names, but none of us can tell them apart. The boys, the chickens, and our chocolate lab, Charlie, keep us very busy.

I am truly looking forward to joining the Ebb Valley community and getting to know your children and families.

Meet Mr. Watts

JWattsDear Ebb Valley Community,

I am very excited to be returning to Ebb Valley Elementary as your new principal starting July 1! I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and my experiences with Carroll County Public Schools.  I have always felt a strong connection to this school and our community.  I had the pleasure of working at Ebb Valley as a classroom teacher in multiple grade levels during the school’s first four years, and I have so many fond memories from that experience. I was actively involved with the school’s leadership team, and supported the growth of technology and environmental elements during the school’s formative years.  As a result, I’ve felt that a part of my passion for education has remained here and I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to return.

Since I left Ebb Valley I have had two experiences as an assistant principal in the county. I worked at Carrolltowne Elementary in Sykesville for 3 years and learned how to support the running of a school. This past year I worked at Robert Moton Elementary and continued to fine tune my craft to improve my leadership and communication skills.

I look forward to reuniting with so many families and staff at Ebb Valley and getting to know many new faces as well.   We have many transitions coming in the 2016-2017 school year at Ebb Valley including the uniting of the Charles Carroll community, a later instructional start time and new school leadership.   Please know that you are welcome in my office at any time.  My door is always open. I look forward to this new adventure and hope to talk with you soon.

Justin Watts
