Ladies and gentlemen!

Here is a good update for the parents and some good reminders for the students:  Monday is a half-day and we are going to use it to review the Underground Railroad.  On Tuesday, we will be taking a monsterous test on the impact of Slavery.  For the remainder of the week, we will start studying the ways in which the North and South tried to stop the Civil War from occuring.

Linked to this post is the official SGA video for the faculty-student basketball game that will be played on March 23rd.  Enjoy.

Oh, no!  Get all your late work in (and there is a bunch of late work).  You can redo most assignments for an improved grade.  If you’re not sure what you can redo, just ask me.  All late work must be in by Thursday, 11/3/11.  I have updated the printables page with all the Revolution stuff.  I’ll also be posting another Video Blog within the next seven days that you won’t want to miss.

PS:  I have Utz chips for sale again.

Finally, I get a chance to update this thing.  The printables section now has more papers, and I updated the Benjamin Franklin page for the accelerated class.  Below is the plan for the week:

  • Monday:  Share our notes on the 13 colonies
  • Tuesday:  Finish sharing our notes and take a formative assessment on our notes
  • Wednesday:  Work on the 13 Colonies Brochure project (summative assessment)
  • Thursday:  Begin working on the Causes of the Revolution
  • Friday:  Vocabulary Test + Time to work on the Brochures!

On Friday, I will be posting the first video blog.  Be here and be square!

This is the plan for the last week of September:

  • Monday:  Finish Explorers and start the Columbian Exchange
  • Tuesday:  Finish the Columbian Exchange
  • Wednesday:  All out test and project day on Explorers and the C.E.
  • Thursday:  Play video games all day
  • Friday:  Start the 13 Colonies

Monday will also be the start of the coolest way to earn $5.  You need to bring in state quarters.  Click the link to go to the SS$ page to find out how to do it.  http://blogs.carrollk12.org/jaspina/ss/

Blog the 4th

September 21, 2011 | The News  |  Comments Off

I haven’t blogged in a week and half, so I have a lot to catch up on.  I’ll start with the most depressing news.  Since I you guys had a major payday, I’m going to start implementing fines.  I love taking money just as much as I like giving it out!  As far as our curriculum is concerned, we are just getting to the explorers which will take us into next week.  Right after explorers is a quick unit on the Columbian Exchange.  We have a lot to accomplish and there is no time to waste.  Oh yeah, I’ll also update the blog with all the papers and things from the last week or so.
